Show MONTEZUMA CASTLE ARIZONA BRANCH A few women delegates attending the Congregational State Conference in Tucson, Arizona in 1918, asked Dr. J. H. Heald and Dr. Moore to meet with them to consider some form of missionary organization. Finding that nearly every church in the state had a missionary society or, at least, a department of a missionary union, those present decided to organize and ask to become a Branch of the W. B. M. P. Mrs. J. L. Felton was elected first president of the Branch and has been succeeded by Mrs. F. J. Stoetzel, Mrs. Geo. Andrews, and Mrs. J. B. Brown of Phoenix who is at present in office. Much inspiration and help has been given by visits from secretaries of the Board, Mrs. Helen S. Ranney conducting a very enthusiastic Jubilee meeting in Phoenix in June, 1918. The growth is slow due to great distances and changing personnel of churches. However, the fire that has been kindled in the hearts of a few of Arizona's women, and the splendid help that we are constantly receiving from the loyal members of the Board of the Pacific, will, as our state grows in population, make us become a real power in the work of the Lord's Kingdom.
