Show becoming the president in 1921, which office she now most acceptably holds. The coming of Mrs. Helen Street Ranney as Jubilee Secretary in 1921 made the Jubilee undertakings seem feasible and energies have bent largely to the realization of the aims for this year 1923. But the work of the Board has been far from being sidetracked or neglected, there has been steady development along many important lines. Inter-Board relations have been much strengthened by the formation of the Council of Congregational Woman's Foreign Missionary Boards, of which Mrs. Evans is president, and which, as its name implies, offers an inter-change of policies and methods among the three woman's Boards. A second Conference of Directors, Advisory Board and Branch officers was held in June 1921 at Pomona College in connection with the meeting of the National Council in Los Angeles. Again helpful sessions full of important discussions, made this a memorable and valuable meeting. In 1921 a Financial Advisory Committee was formed consisting of the late Mr. Charles D. Blaney, Mr. Wallace M. Alexander and Mr. E. V. Krick. This Committee has proved of inestimable value in advising on matters of business efficiency and investment of permanent funds, and their efforts have been deeply appreciated. An outstanding feature of the social work of the Board for a number of years has been the missionary luncheons held in connection with the American Board, whenever a body of Foreign Missionaries gather in our vicinity on their journeys from or to the field. Many ties have been formed and strengthened by these most pleasant gatherings. The 1922 Annual Meeting was an innovaticm in that it took place in Portland, Oregon, beautifully featured and most cordially entertained. At this meeting the Constitution of the Board was again amended, increasing the number of Directors to twenty-five. With this enlarged Directorate and all the special departments carrying on the high ideals of past leaders, we come to the fiftieth anniversary with highest hopes for the future and humble Thanksgiving that hitherto hath the Lord led us.
