Show 619 Frog Creek. Mr. Wimmer Came down Bull Frog Creek from Salina with the truck, but he did not bring a boat with him. R. 1497. These men were not with the boating party, merely a supply party that brought in supplies to the mouth of Bull Frog Creek. He saw Mr. Wimmer more than ones, and he was there " in camp with us" until he left. He doesn't remember whether or not he left Wimmer at Bull Frog Creek when the expedition was finished. R. 1498. " Q. Did you see any other boats on that first expedition? " A. Not as I recall it. I believe Tom Humphrey had one, but didn't use it, a small boat." R. 1498. It was a row boat. He saw a mining dredge at the mouth of Bull Frog that was not in use; it was abandoned. He saw no boats on the river. There were no signs of places where the dredge had been working. He left the boat there at Bull Frog Creek for Mr. Wimmer to use in hauling supplies " From Bull Frog to where they were needed below, when we came back through, down through Cataract Canyon." R. 1499- 1500. Mr. Wimmer was in the employ of the government. He was not to take the supplies down to the Coast Survey Party. The Coast Survey Party had their own outfit. |
