OCR Text 604 LEIGH B. LIET For Complainant ( R. Vol. B, pp. 1466- 1509) He resides at Weiser, Idaho. He is 27 years old. Until a few days previous he was topographic engineer of the U. s. Geological Survey. he is now entering the University of Idaho at Moscow. He has had four seasons of experience as a boatman on the Snake River; two seasons on the Green River; one on the Colorado. He grew up on the Snake River and has been accustomed to handling boats since he was a boy. He made his first trip on the Green River in 1921 starting at Greenriver, Utah. R. 1466- 1467. " Q And where did that trip go? " A Well, the first part of the trip was overland, and we hit the Colorado river at the mouth of the Freemont ( Sic Fremont) river; then a boat was brought in by wagon, by way of North wash, and we used this boat as far as Bull Frog creek; We went out around to Greenriver and there we got three boats, Galloway type boats. We took those on down the Green River through Cataract canyon; We ran a line through Cataract canyon, then picked up our old line at Bull Frog, and worked on down and continued the work which Mr. Trimble and Major Fowler were doing.
