Show Frank Nishiguchi 11-19-84 sl:3 I come home, why, my brother says, well, there•s not enough ground here for both of us. I 1 ll rent a farm up by my oldest brother, Ben. And you can take over thehome place. And s when I come home, I went to see First Security Bank in Tremonton and the manager at that time was a fellow by the name of Jack Shimway. And I sat down with him, and said, Mr. Shimway I•d like to start farming. I know I haven•t got much money, but I would like to have the opportunity to farm if you could be my b~nker. And he looked at me straight across the desk from me and looked me right square in ~eye and said, hell, Frank if any dag gone guy can save what you did in the army with the rating that you had, and I kept track through George, your brother. And I knew that was because it was all going to Korea because had said that that•s where it should go. Well, I knew you were having a tough time and if you could scrape and save and send that kind on .1money to me, he says, you•ve got my bank at your backing. You•rein business. Sothat was my financial arrangements with him.Andthat•s how I got started farming. I run the place my brother George was running and plus a little piece of my father•s and that was my beginning.! borrowed the tractor from my father and borrowed equpment from my brother. We traded truck equipment between Oregon and Tremonton. And their spring•s earlier than ours and we go out and do their work and then he come down and do mine. And that•s how we do our planting. And when we harvest inthe fall, we just reverse becuse our season•s shorter. We harvest mine and then go op and do theirs. That•s how we did it. That•s along ways to truck equip- |
