His delivery has been called "distinctive" and" authoritative" by The Boston Globe, Guitar Extra and Dirty Linen. Hugh has been seen performing at the New Folk Concerts at the Kerrville Folk Festival, the Songwriter Retreats on Martha's Vineyard, the WWUH folk Next Door concerts in Hartford and the Fast Folk Revue at the Bottom Line in New York City. While he is currently working on album number three, Hugh's two albums, The Strong in Spirit and Barehanded, have won several media awards. Airplay on folk/ acoustic and alternative music shows has put the discs on college radio playlists across the country and Barehanded has charted on CMJ. Dirty Linen describes Blumenfeld in Barehanded as having "a keen eye for the details that make a story real, and a happy sense of the hugeness of the heart." The Performing Songwriter says that "his softspoken vo-cals alternate between rapture, longing and bite, each tact wedded perfectly to the phrase at hand." Corne see for yourself January 13th. Opening for Hugh is local singer I songwriter, Kathryn Warner. You saw her at the Second Annual Benefit Concert; she's back from a five-year absence. Receiving national recognition for her Glass House album, she is currently in the studio working on her second CD.
