Show Data Section Introduction The Data Section for the 2000-01 UtahHealth An Annual Review uses both historical figures and those which are most recently available The data section has four subsections Demographics Health Status Risk Factors and Health Care Costs Access and Quality narrative accompanies each data page to point out important trends in Utah and to provide quidance while interpreting the data-especially dramatic changes and trends It should be noted that while compiling this yeardata figures in previous volumes were updated Differences Between ICD-9 and ICD-10 The International Classification of Diseases ICD is changed periodically because of the need to stay abreast of medical advances in disease nomenclature andetiology As with previous revisions of the ICD the change to the tenth revision resulted inmuch more detailed dlassification about000 categories compared with about000 categories in the ninth revision ICD-10 uses four-digit codes alphanumeric compared with four-digit numeric codes in ICD9 In the 2000-01 issue of UtahHealth An Annual Review the data section will use ICD-9 Future editions will make the conversion to ICD 10 as it becomes used in more categories Age-adjusted Rates Age-adjusted rates used in the publication are set from the 1940 baseline Information for the 2000 baseline was not complete when UtahHealth was published thus it was not reflected in our data It will however be available in next yearpublication 2002 S Census Information The 2000 S census information was not available prior to the UtahHealth publication deadiine Therefore it will not be reflected until next yearpublication 2002 Digital image 2005 Marriott Library University of Utah Al rights reserved |
