Show (2) When we were at the Monastery of St.Catherine's a vear ago, I!?JUS:USSed t h i s Pr°Ject wi*k the authorities at the monasterv and with the Greek Orthodox Church authorities in New York later on.and they seemed very willing and pleased to have a project of this tvpe conducted at the monkery, especially if the Library of Congress was associated with the project. As we would be operating strictly within the wails of the monsstery, utilizing two motor vehicles to transport our eauipment and prsonnel to the monastery from Abu Zeniah,I feel that it might be possible now to begin this operation, for exemple around the beginning of May. I must, however, secure permission immediately,in that it will take a great deal of planning and final arrangements from this end. ° I welcome,as always, the closest possible association with you end Farouk University, and we would welcome any of your scientists or scholars^as members of the project representing Farouk University If this is impossible. I will in any case be pleased and proud to personally represent Farouk University to the extent of presenting Farouk University with copies of all the manuscripts.
