Show THE CONTINUMORPH: ANALOGUE TO THE INFINITE VARIETY OF NATURE But there still exists a vague notion that though it is very-proper to control this or the other natural phenomena, the general scheme of nature is a model for us to imaitate: that with more or less liberty in details, we should on the whole be guided by the spirit and general conception of nature's own ways : John Stuart Mill (20) We have seen that the members of the same class, independendently of their habits of life, resemble each other in the general plan of their organization. This resemblence is often expressed by the term "unity of type;" or by saying that the several parts and organs in the different species of the class are homologous. The whole subject is included under the general term of morphology. This is one of the most interesting departments of natural hisory, and may almost be said to be its very soul. Charles Darwin (21) There are seven axioms that spawn the continumorph: 1) Nature is the model for the man made environment. 2) Nature is a continuum. 3) A continuum is any whole with unique parts like leaves on a tree. 4) Morphology is the study of form (space). 5) The smallest form (space) or "morph" in a continuum is a cont inu-morph. 6) The continumorph is the polymorphic analogue to the polymorphic parts of nature. 7) Continumorphic space will allow mankind to build in morphic harmony with the natural spacial order. Nature is a polyhedral world where the infinite numbers of members of sets are without duplication. No two leaves in any set are the same you have infinite variety. No two leaves off a tree will ever -43- |
