Show I Corn -3- • owners of stock. His map and list of stockmen are also enclosed for the consideration of the Office, in order that accurate information may be available regarding the use at present being made of the ground in question. In thi3 connection I might add that I have personally inspected the grazing ground, all of it except the extreme upper Duchesne point of it. I have looked the Rock // creek portion and all east of it over with some care. It will be reaembered that this is largely a desert country except when irrigated, and quite an unusual area of it 1B required for a given amount of stock. Thile perhaps no part of the grazing ground is at present Btocked to its full capacity, it is true that all parts of it are trying used by the Indians; and taking all things into consideration there i3, in my opinion, absolutely no question but that their grazing ground should be reserved for their exclusive use. I have refused to permit them to sell their female stock, am arranging with then to purchase a dozen or more additional pure-bred bulls, have encouraged a few more of them to go into the stock business and have tried to assure them all that now since they had insisted upon retaining their grazing ground, and not leasing it, they were all the more obligated to 3tock it to its full capacity and make all out of it that is possible.
