Gentlemen: While you gentlemen are here, I am handing you herewith some of the things which I consider to be -pressing reeds, and Which it is desired that you will assist me to accomplish. I would request the assistance of 7the.Indian Office in a campaign of advertising which shall reach nearly all the land hungry in the country, and shall be continued till adequate results are obtained. Lenient terms should be introducer and local approval of leases should be instituted and the rapid leasing of the surplus lands should be facilitated in every way possible which will net breed loose contracts. Lessees must be brought in. The available number cf Indians and whites now here is entirely inadequate. A systematic campaign must be waged to get able bodied allottees on their allotments and get them to farming. This cannot be done without funds to provide the nedessary buildings and equipment, neither oan it be done without intelligent personal work among them by both the |
