Title Little Mable
Description LITTLE KABLE Lucille Allen Monti, Utah Senior Citizen Division Honorable Mention Poetry When I was just a tiny tot. Hay back in days of yore, I had a little trundle bed Right down upon the floor- Real close to my dear parents1 bed- I could hear my father snore. 1 wfiQt to play uitn friends one day¦ I trudged along, in scorching sun, I didn't stop to play Till I had reached the Jason home Where ve vould spend a happy day. In a humble little house This family did reside. I planned to stay and spend the night, But itfhen the dark began to creep I longed to be at home to sleep. I wanted my dear trundle bed, Ike saddled up his great work horse. He put me on behind. I bid them all a food good night. We soon were out of sight. He took me all the way back home Source: Told by Mrs. Mable Simmons, uho vas born March 3, 1888. -43-
