Title Optical rotatory dispersion and circular dichroism studies on nucleoside derivatives
Publication Type thesis
School or College College of Science
Department Chemistry
Author Miles, Daniel Warren
Date 1967
Description This thesis represents a humble first step towards the use of optical rotation theory on the purine and pyrimidine nucleosides (the constituents of the nucleic acids) and their derivatives, This area will surely see very rapid development in the future, and it will greatly increase the scope of rotatory dispersion applications to biochemical problems, The ultraviolet absorption, optical rotatory dispersion and, in some cases, the CD spectra of approximately 100 nucleosides, nucleotides, dinucleotides and related com pounds are reported herein or else used implicitly.
