It was hoped that Weber State would have some input from the program as well. Mr. Cope met with Mr. Haney, and it was reported they are looking forward to it. The Cultural Awareness workshop that comes out of Weber State is generally a two- or three-day affair. Mr. Cope received a call from LeeAnn Davis, coordinator of some of the Cultural Awareness programs at Weber State, who has shown some interest in applying for a seat on the Council. Mr. Cope reminded the Council that about three meetings ago they asked for three seats for youth, which have not been filled yet. A copy of her resume is attached. It was recommended that she be invited to come in and see if she can be available at all Council meetings if they choose her. A description was given of her qualifications. A discussion ensued on having youth on the Council and what constituted youth. It was felt by one member that the youth should be full time high school or college students. The age of the proposed youth seats was also discussed. Mr. Gary Ashley stated that he was a student desiring to fill a seat as a youth member and would like to be considered. He came out to see what the council was doing. After further discussion on the age of the youth, a motion was made that they consider youth who have not reached their 22nd birthday.
