Description An overview of Section 11.
Abstract "The 15 chapters that comprise this section are concerned with infections and inflammations of neuro-ophthalmologic importance and the organisms or mechanisms that cause them. The purpose of this section is to provide the reader with a description of the neurologic and visual manifestations of these disorders and to relate these manifestations, whenever possible, to the characteristics of the responsible organisms and to the pathology of the resultant lesions. The chapters should not be used as a guide for treatment, as the drugs used to treat infections and inflammations are constantly changing as newdrugs are developed or older drugs are improved."
