It is one of th e m o s t u n u su a l build* ings in the w o rld fro m the stan d p o in t of a r c h ite c tu r e . It is 250 fe e t long, 80 fe e t high, and 150 fe e t w ide. The T a b e rn a c le s e a ts about 8,000 peo p le. T he w ooden b e a m s and t r u s s e s of the T a b e rn a c le w e re put to g e th e r w ith wooden peg s and cow hide th o n g s. T he ro o f is su p p o rted only by the 44 b u ttr e s s e s w hich su rro u n d the building. T he balcony sta n d s a p a r t fro m th e w a lls.
