They were required to make a t a ble showing the functions of food, the type of food necessary to perform each function and the foods included in 8a. ch of these :fi,!q>es. Instead of Page 8 working on e Qay and off of duty one day, they enjoy two days off and pay for this bliss by working two days straight. cCc Last week we lost one of our very valua~le cooks. But as Al puts it, "We can take It". cCc After the boys go home there will be several vacancies in the kitchen. We will lose three K. P.'s in the bunch. Chancey is going back Es.st as a transferee, and Adams and ••Tex" have d oc i.d0d that there is no place like h ome. So long, boys, and good luck. cCc Fruits, "R" in season. And so are the Greenriver cantaloupes and watermelons. The company has been eat i ng an abundance of tomatoes, cucum~ers, grapes and pears, besides oraz:g es and lemons for lemonade. But wh an those Greenviver watermelons a.nd Ccint s come to th e table--Well, we just ca nn ot get enough. Some one suggested sendir.g a truck to the fields where they are grown and sold at 1/2 cent a pound. We t hink it is a good idea. |
