Show [83] enjoyment offuch liberties and rights ; be it enacted by the King's molt excellent lVlajelty, by and with the advice and confent of the Lords fpiritual and temporal, and Commons, in this prefent Parliament affembled, and by the authority of the fame, that it {hall and may be lawful for his Majelty, from time to time, by letters patent under the great feal of Great-Britain, t0 authorife and im- power five able and fuflicient perfons, or any three of them, to treat, confult, and agree with fuch body or he- dies political and corporate, or with fuch alfembly or aflemblies of men, or with any perfon or perfons what- foever, of and concerning any grievances, or complaints of grievances, exifiing, or fuppofed to exift, in the gon vernment of any of the faid colonies, provinces, or planu tations refpeétively, or in the laws and flatutes of this realm refpeéting the fame 5 and of or concerning any aid or contribution to be furnilhed by all or any of the {aid Colonies, provinces, or plantations refpeétively, for the " 1m! be it furibcr mafia/l, That it {hall and may be lawful for his Majelty, by fuch letters patent as aforefaid, to authorife and impower the faid Commiflioners, or any three of them, by proclamation under their refpeétive hands and feals, from time to time, to fufpend the operation and effect of a certain a& of Parliament, made and palled in the fixteenth year of the reign of his prefent lVlajefty, for prohibiting all trade and intercourfe with certain colonies and plantations therein named, and for the other purpofes therein alfo mentioned, or any of the provifrons or reflriétions therein contained ; fpecifying in fuch proclamation at what times and places refpeétively, and with what exceptions and rel'tric‘tions, and under what pallbs and clearances, in lieu of thole heretofore directed by any act or aéts of Parliament for regulating the trade of the colonies or plantations, the {aid fufpenflon [hall take elicit, and the faid fufpenfion and proclamation, in the fame manner and form, to annul and revoke. common defence of this realm, and the domini'ons there-unto belonging ; and of and concerning any other regu- lations, provilions, matters, and things, necellary or convenient for the honor of his Majefty, and his Par= liament, and for the common good 0t all his fubjeéts.
