Superintendent
156 Fifth Avenue
New York

New York, October 11th, 1905.

Mr. George W. [sic] Sweazey,

My Dear Mr. Sweazey:-

In looking over your recent financial statement, I was somewhat shocked to find a bill for advertising in the Sunday edition of the Salt Lake Tribune. I brought the matter to the attention of our executive meeting yesterday, and our women hardly believed such a thing had been done. I assured them of the possibility of its having been done in previous years, but not appearing in the bill, as former bills were simply "For advertising in the Lakt [sic] Lake Tribune"; and it never occurred to me, until looking carefully over your report, that the Sunday edition had been used to bring to the attention of the people of Utah the fact that we are maintaining a Christian school. I am sure you will not continue this practice. We do believe in advertising in the week day papers, but we wholly disapprove of using the Sunday edition for any purpose whatever.

I am sure you will appreciate the spirit in which this letter is written, and that you will give personal attention to the matter.

Very sincerely yours,

Miss S. F. Lincoln

|
