Show Sheldon Jackson, General Agent of Education for Alaska.
Department of the Interior, Bureau of Education, Alaska Division,
Washington, D. C., November 11, 1896.

Rev. R. G. McNiece,
Salt Lake City, Utah.

My dear Doctor:
While in the Arctic this summer I secured a few curios from that region, the beginning of our College Museum. They will be brought by the Revenue Cutter "Bear" to Puget Sound without expense. The boxes are marked ‘College Museum', to your care, Salt Lake City. Will you please take charge of them and if the College has no funds for freight you can send me the bill. If you have no place to display them I would leave them in the boxes for the present. I have left word with the teachers in Alaska to make collections this winter and I hope another season to be able to get a very fine ethnological collection from that region.
I am very sorry to hear of your resignation as Pastor of the First Church; but it may be in the Divine plan to take that course so that we can get you as a professor in the College, which I am very anxious may be brought about.
Kind regards to Mrs. McNiece and the boys.
General Eaton is in New England looking up rich people in the interest of the College. There has been no time in the

|
