THE CHURCH REVIEW <br><br> General Church Notes <br><br> BAPTIST. <br> The Montana Baptist Re-Record reports nearly all the churches in that field as in a prosperous condition. <br> Dr. H. C. Woods says: "As I have looked over the reports of associations in Idaho, Montana and Utah, counted very hard fields, I have been surprised to find that the number of baptisms reported, in proportion to the membership is greater than in the older states, in the East." <br> A Catholic mission bishop in Burma, in a letter to the Catholic Telegraph says, "In our work, we are confronted by two difficulties. One of them is the caste system with its consequences; the other difficulty is enmity of the American Baptists." <br> Many good Baptist people in the south are quite exercised, over the matter of a special organization of Young People. A fraternal organization among young people ought not to jeopardize their relation to the church as an integral part of its life. <br><br> METHODIST. <br> Rev. Sam. P. Jones begins meeting at Little Rock, Ark., today, April 28th. <br> The late Rev. Dr. W. S. Burch presiding Elder, Kokomo district, North Indiana Conference bequeathed, $20,000 to the American University at Washington D.C. <br> The Italy Conference, is in session at Florence Italy, Bishop Fitzgerald presides. <br> Hear this adventure of young Americans! When Bishop Ninde was sent for by the Korean king recently, to confer with him on educational business, the Bishop's two sons determined to go along. For some reason, the Bishop had to take a road different from the one the boys took. When well under way, the guides refused to go further unless the boys should greatly increase their pay. This they refused to do and the guides left them. Not to be thus outwitted, they pressed on to Seoul the capital, arriving after the gates were closed and secured. <br> Then probably for the first time in its history the wall of that old city, was scaled by two American boys who intended that nothing so insignificant as a city's walls should stop them. Having entered they hunted up the mission and made themselves known about midnight. They were [present] at the interview between the Bishop and the King. The church and the world will likely hear of them again. <br><br> "I do not remember ever to have heard in my father's home one disrespectful or unkind word concerning a minister." That is what we overheard a young woman say not long ago.
