Show THE CHURCH REVIEW.

FIRST CONGREGATIONAL.
"Alexander Hamilton" is the subject of the lecture this evening. We are all glad to see such good congregations in the evening and particularly glad that there are so many young men.

Our prayer meeting on Wednesday evening was largely attended and the spirit was excellent. Unless you have a duty which detains you elsewhere you cannot afford to miss the help which may be gained by habitual attendance at the mid-week meeting.

We are sorry to lose Mr. O. S. McClain who expects to start to Los Angeles tomorrow. We hope that he will return to us again.

The "Monday Night Club" will meet tomorrow night at 8 o'clock in the lecture room.

Prof. Radcliffe's concert will be given next Tuesday evening in the church.

The four central churches, First Methodist, First Presbyterian, Central Christian and First Congregational, will join in a union Thanksgiving service at the First Presbyterian church at eleven o'clock November 29th. Our pastor will preach the sermon.

Following are names and addresses of those received into the church last Sunday: Rev. and Mrs. Henry K. Warren, 508 East Third South, Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Hanna, 116 East Capitol Street, Miss Adella K. Porter, 336 South Seventh East, W. L. Stevenson, 24 Fourth East. Fifty have been received into the church since last January.

Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Parsons were granted letters to the Third Presbyterian church last Wednesday evening.

ILIFF M. E. CHURCH.
Good reports come from the cottage prayer meetings. But a large attendance would be secured if more pains were taken to invite your neighbors whether Christian or not, to attend. These cottage prayer meetings may be made the means of doing much good if the members and friends of the church will cooperate heartily in the movement. Then let us confine our efforts on Wednesday night in an evangelistic service.
The Epworth League will elect officers for the next six months tomorrow, Monday, night. Let all Epworth Leaguers be present.
Ernest Burgen is the name of the young man who united with the church on probation last Sunday. He is welcome.

LIBERTY PARK M. E. CHURCH.
Bro. Charley Taylor has been on the sick list for some time but is now improving. Sister Brim and her babies have been under the physicians care and are better.
Remember the members will all be given the privilege of voting next Thursday evening on the proposed constitutional amendment whether or not women may be elected lay delegates to the General Conferences.
Is the Junior League preparing for its part in the Epworth League anniversary?
Man's best and greatest inventions are but the shavings from his workbench while in pursuit of some unrealized idea.
Your pastor intends soon to preach a sermon on "Christian Science." Look out for the announcement.
Pray for the success of the special meetings and work for them as though you have not another opportunity.

PHILLIPS CONGREGATIONAL.
Please take notice. This evening at 7:30 there will be a temperance service. An address on Woman's Work by Mrs. Hobbs, on General Temperance Effort by Mr. Goodwin. Special music and recitations. Don't fail to hear these talks.
Next Sunday evening we will have a special Thanksgiving service with addresses by several prominent people.
The East Side Union Thanksgiving service will be held on Thanksgiving Day at the Iliff church, the pastor of this church preaching the sermon.
Mrs. Gertrude Hobbs, Miss Hannah Lefvander, Mr. John Cole and Mr. David Walton are to unite with our church an confession of faith. The two latter desiring baptism by immersion, a union service was held last Sunday evening in the Central Christian church, Mr. Clay administering the rite. It was a service greatly enjoyed by all.

Watches are being sold at very low figures at J. H. Leyson Co.'s special watch sale. Their designs are new and all watches are fully guaranteed. $15 buys better watch now than formerly you got for $40. Inspect our large stock.
With each Dollar's worth of goods purchased for cash at J. R. Culbertson's New Grocery, 83 E. 2nd South, we give a Coupon, good for Five Cents in Cash: when twenty of these Coupons are presented at our store by any one person, we will pay one dollar for same. New stock at lowest prices.
Owing to the unexpected truth at R. K. Thomas' great underwear sale he has had to increase his orders and is now receiving large additions to his fleet of Ladies', Misses' and Children's underwear and selling at prices which cannot be met in the city. |
