Show LewW. ro January 20, 2004 FHM: Did you play any musical instrument? LWC: No, no. We used to have band concerts on aft deck quite often. FHM: Okay. Did your military experience influence your thinking about war, or the military in general? LWC: No, not really. It's just something that's necessary. FHM: Okay. Would you like to say something about how American life has changed since you were back there? I'm talking about what has been invented, what world events have happened during your lifetime. LWC: Well, there's one thing that really bothers me. It's, you know, we used to say that the morals was pretty bad over in Japan when we was over there, and jeez, they're getting almost that bad here now. FHM: Can you explain who "They" are? The mores? LWC: Explain what? FHM: Oh, I thought you were referring to a group of people. I'm sorry. LWC: No, it's everybody in general. FHM: And why do you say it's getting like that now? LWC: Well, you can't even tum on the television without porn or something like that, you know, now days. FHM: Okay. Could you explain the difference in a ship as you served in, as what one would be like now? LWC: Oh yes. Well, the battleship is just about a thing of the past now. FHM: Why is that? 17 |
