Abstract Cross (b. 1927) joined the Navy in February 1944 and attended basic training in Farrigut, Idaho, before serving on the USS Ulysses S. Grant, USS Indiana, USS Greyhound, and the USS Sutherland. Discharged in October 1947, he joined the Naval Reserves and returned to active duty in 1950, serving at Treasure Island, California, and aboard the . He retired from military service in 1951. Interviewed by Frances Merrill. 24 pages.
