Show 0 BIRD BEC: Oh I 11 bet that was a real ye-op n r or h' t 't. ROY: It was. He got away just in time because we got v r-runju t a r h l h had it timed pretty well. That was an interesting exp rienc . BEC: Yes, I' 11 bet that was kind of nice for you wasn t it. ROY: And he told me where we were going from there, but he was wrong. BEC: Is that right? ROY: Yes. BEC: Where did he tell you that you were going? ROY: Well, he said we were going south. Instead of that, we went north, but it didn't matter anyway. It was all in the same area. BEC: So, when you were out there, you didn't really know where you were going or what was going on? I guess you were just mainly focused on staying alive? ROY: That's the thing. We didn't know what was going on. Nobody knew what was going on. Nobody told you anything, you know. It was just mass confusion. You see all these stories about how organized people are. Well it's different, see, we were on the defensive. When you're on the defensive, you don't know as much about what's going on as when you're on the offensive. BEC: Right, yes, just plugging holes in the line and things. ROY: Right. We were there until the 19th of January. Then we went back to a rest area, back by Nancy, France. BEC: So they rotated you back. But you said that right after your brother left, you got over-run? 17 |
