Show to the explanation that Avas given to the men. These dispensary Avomen patients also came on other days and it soon became evident that there must be some woman or women to look after them, both for the sake of keeping them in order and in the hope of teaching them something. This need was met by sending the women of the station class daily to the chapel for the period that they were needed. With the increase of dispensary patients more of this work must be done. With the closing of the dispensary the first of May at the beginning of the fourth month fair, the attend-of Avomen on Sunday decreased at once. The Thursday woman's meeting has been held Avith the school this year, the faithful ones Avho used to come taking the extra steps in order to share the blessings of the meetings. Sometimes Ave have been compelled to leave the leadership of these meetings to the women themselves Avithout one of us present, because of the pressure of other duties. Among other results of the station classes held by the ladies of P'ang Chuang in the Lintsing field has been the creating of an appetite for just that sort of thing. Many of the helpers, too, know of the beautiful Avork done there for Avomen, and so churchmembers and helpers alike, improA'e every oportunity to tell Avhat they Avant along that line. His wife has gone there to be with him and Ave hope that his daughter who is in the highest class at P'ang Chuang will also be there this summer and that the tAvo of them with the help of Mrs. Chou will be able to do something for that neglected region. In one or two other places, the gatekeepers have their Avives with them, so there is some one to meet the Avomen. Of course Ave expect the Avomen Avho haA-e been in the station class this spring to go back to their homes and help their neighbors, but there can be no organized work until there is some one to look after it. While Ave hope for more of touring and station class work in the outstations another year, Ave feel that the stationclass that Ave have held in the central station this year has been a very important one. We shall hope to send out Bible Avomen as fast as Ave train them. Even the native helpers are aAvakened to the serious condition of the work for Avomen in our field. They spent an evening discussing what they called the greatest need of our district. They referred to the |
