Abstract |
"More than 50% of patients with both primary and secondary brain tumors develop neuro-ophthalmologic symptoms or signs as the initial manifestation of their lesion and an even higher percentage of patients with such lesions develop neuro-ophthalmologic manifestations at some point during the course of their disease. In addition, tumors in parts of the body distant from the eyes and central nervous system can produce ocular, neurologic, and neuro-ophthalmologic manifestations as a consequence of immunologic effects on the eyes or the brain." |
