The Division of Water Resources, Parks and Recreation, Wildlife Resources, Oil and Gas Conservation, State Lands, Water Rights, and the Utah Geological and Mineral Survey, are all under the Department of Natural Resources. The Division of Water Resources is charged with the authority to authorize studies, investigations, and plans for the full development and utilization of the water and power resources of the state and for the formulation of a state water plan. The Division of Parks and Recreation establishes and coordinates programs for the development of recreational areas within the state.
