Show agents in the delivery of deeds to the Snake element, and the spirit of o position on the part of the recalcitrant Indians to the acceptance o f their deeds seeems to be slowly dying out. Seventy-three deeds to the 1-acre tracts reserved from allotment for church purposes under the provisions of the Cherokee agreement have been prepared and delivered to the proper authorities. During the year recommendations of this office have received departmental approval and appro riate notations on the rolls have been made in the cases of 9 enrollel citizens where field investigations develo ed the fact that they had died rior to September 1,1902, in the case o ? one minor who died prior to %arch 4, 1906, and in 8 cases of duplicate enrollment, so that the number of enrolled citizens of the Cherokee Nation entitled to allotments, including "New borns," 1s 41,698 as ag- ainst 41,716, th'e number a.p.p e arhg- in the last annual re ort %he.following tables show the status of enrollment and allotment in the Cherokee Nation: Status ofallotments in Cherokee Nation June SO, 1911.
