Show At 106 MM Btu/hr firing refinery fuel gas, the average results for all three (3) boilers were: NOx ~ 0.070 LBS/MM Btu co ~ 0.004 LBS/MM Btu 02 ~ 2% Dry Flame Length ~ 15 Feet Flame Diameter ~ 4 Feet "FIR" % ~ 4% Conclusion The customer is completely satisfied and the boilers have been operating for more than one year. During the annual shutdown in the summer of 1994, the original A VC burner tiles were removed and replaced with a rammed plastic tile with an improved diverging tile shape which has improved the flame pattern again without the increase in NOx or CO. The good news is that through this learning adventure, John Zink has licensed the "FIR" technology and has available to our customers an ultra low Nox boiler burner, the CMR, capable of achieving::; 0.03 LBS/MM Btu NOx firing natural gas with less than 25 ppm of CO. This burner can achieve emission levels comparable to the installation of a SCR system at a fraction of the operating cost without the use of a forced flue gas recirculation system. |
