Show near Sand Fass After leavine Drum mon-ains fly over the fluorspor mines northwest of Topaz mountain that gray mass almost due north and as yor near Sand Pass lower the plane and turn sharply todue sovth skimming over the sharply-cut quartzite butte to be seen nearly directly south of Sand Pass and distant butshort of the butte way Fly fairly close to the wet sidey but try the finder several times as you near the object giving the pilot instructions as to higher or lower distance out until the fine broad prominent terrace there is just right in the field of view It is one of the sharpest-cut boldest shore lines in the vicinity It follows the contour of the butte until it is lost On the north end three higher terraces will come into view 1f necessary circle the butte to get the right distance avay and height above what you want Digital image 2004 Beckwith Family Al rights reserved |
