Show 6 Butte Regervotr ER ER Froderick Pack says effect that no 1af world has written its history more fully than has lake Bonne wille Tt is particularly striking at Riverside Sutte The technical name Reservoir Butte from two small reservoirs one on the south tip observable from the air and one on the east side also observable from the air but neither reservoir can be seen from the road My enthusiasm for the Snowplow Onp Butte and Reservoir Butte is very high Scenically they satisfy asstudy they are outstanding thirdwaypo to them is Delta to juncture with oiled road atto 74 miles thence west across the entire valley vorv shortly yon will seeterrace at theft vest ro past it for the betrer picpre stop and shoot back Wi th the winding road enterins yovr picture Go on to Drum Mountai ns the road fs the regular ore road used by the mines west of Topaz Mt en about opposite each and 1s kept in fairly pood condition of the members of the Drun Mowntaim scrutinize the lover slopes for flock of terraces They are plain from the air but fron the road below only the vpper oneam usually one other can be surely scen and that unsatisfactory forpicture Go on unti1 the ore road meets the Jericho-Gallao road eist and west Go east on 1t to the smll reservoir alreidy given You canmiss the reservoir because you drop downgentle incline sheep corral on vour left which rass and there is the reservoir Slishtly beyond The distance from Delta to here is dbout 52 miles Parenthetically therea fourth way to the old river channel short cut from Delta past the Hot Springs this shortDigital image 2004 Beckwith Family Al rights reserved |
