Show PRINCETON UNIVERSITY THE LIBRARY PRINCETON, NEW JERSEY WILLIAM S. DIX, Librarian L A W R E N C E H E Y L , Associate Librarian January 28, i960 Mr. Aziz S. Atiya Center for Intercultural Studies University of Utah' Salt Lake City, Utah Dear Mr. Atiya: I am happy to report that Catherine has arrived in excellent health, corporeal and spiritual. She seems only slightly homesick for Jebal Utah, but I think in time she will become accustomed to Princeton again. In any case, I can assure you that we are very glad to have her here and will take the best possible care of her. Your friendly gesture in making this loan has greatly' pleased Professor Weitzmann and myself, and I know that many other people are going to have pleasure in seeing this icon in our exhibition. It is especially gratifying to be able to include this authentic piece along with the photographs, which fine as they are, cannot quite give to a visitor the feeling of an original work. Let me also assure you that your icon., is covered adequately by our insurance policy. If you have had any extra expenses connected with the shipment, I hope you will let me know, for we would be glad to reimburse you. The information which you have sent will be most helpful in writing an exhibition card. My only regret now is that you and Mrs. Atiya cannot be made into another little package and shipped here for the opening of our exhibition, which will take place on February 19th. I am enclosing one of our announcement cards, which will be sent out next week. A bit later on there will be a small descriptive leaflet. With renewed thanks, Very sincerely yours, Howard C. Rice, Jr.f Chief Department of Rare Books & Special Collections 2? \/6/fz Defartment of Rare Book and Special Collections HCR:ck |
