Show 2 3 '< JO I % February 15, 1951 Monsieur le Professeur Gerard Garitte Unlverslte Cathollque do Louvaln Louvain (Belgium) Dear Colleague* I meant to vrite to you earleir, but the pressure of business la the Library of Congress together with a heavy lecture schedule ia the greater American universities, swallowed up all of my time, I discuosed your request of the microfilms with Prof, W, F. Albright and various people here ia the Library, But Prof, Albright told me that he hod already been In touch with you and had explained to you and Prof, Dragnet the difficulties of the situation. However, I have not completely lost hope yet, and will do ay best by trying again. The work here has been moot interesting. 1 have had a deluge of iavitatioaa for lectures from universities ia several parte of the country, rofaaie also received several invitations from Canadian, English and Swiss universities, I do not suppose that I shall be able to oopo with all of them. However, as regards Europe, I am sure of one thing (Deo vblente) that I shall spend the Summer semester as Visiting Professor in Zurich, I am planning to eroeo the Atlantic on a Dutch boat, thus landing in Holland and working ay way to Switzerland through Belgium. The idea behind this arrangenent is that it will give mo the opportunity of calling at Louvaln on the way, partly to see yon with Prof, Dragnet and Hgr, Le-fort, and partly to discuss the possibility of publishing my catalogue of the Arabic MSS, of Mt, Sinai in your Corpus, I am hoping to bo at Louvain during the first half of June, and should like to hear from you that you will be available at that time. If It is not too late, and you feel that it would be a useful project, I do not mind considering a lecture at Louvain on the Arabic MSS. and my Palimpsest - preferably in English, Looking forward to the pleasure of renewing our associations, and with my very best wishes and kindest remembrances. Yours very sincerely, ASAtss Aziz S, Atiya |
