Show ( 44 ) natural'impetuofity of many people's tempers, So important a change in the fituation of public affairs, f0 great a deliverance, has, perhaps, feldom been brought about in any country, with f0 little criminal eXcefs, Unlefs it were done by God alone, without the i'nfirumental'ity or agency of men, by nature liable to lo many errors and infirmities. But whatever there has been' of this kind, Ought to be, and I' hope is, lamented by all good men. May that God, in whom our help has been, continue to proteét us, our rights and privileges ! May he direct our paths thro' this uncertain life, and all the changes of it ; and, of his infinite mer- Cy in Jefus Chrilt, finally bring us all to thofe peaceful and glorious regions, where no evil fpirits, no wicked fow/em will come; where no flare: will be fpread for us ; no proua'water: to go over our/nu] ! And if we hope for admiffion into thofe eternal manfions ofjoy, let every one of us, as the apofile Peter exhorts‘, " ho" nor all men, loVe the brotherhood, fear GOD; " honor the KING." AMEN! |
