Show 322 closed his eyes again. He was upside down. He swung past the heads of a room full of people who looked up and pointed to him. He swung back and they had become animals, that leaped and snarled at him, and climbed over each other in the effort to reach him. He felt her teeth on him again and opened his eyes. The room was full of people bending over to watch. They crowded around the bed, the ones in back craning to see past the heads of the ones in front. She looked at him in surprise as he pulled away. He closed his eyes again. She stretched out beside him and placed him between her legs, rubbing him back and forth. The soles of his feet burned. He was standing on her front step facing her through the storm door, whose glass had been replaced by a screen, against which she was making him rub himself raw while she pressed into him through the wire mesh. Her eyes glittered. Her mouth was opened wide and she kept making sounds like "Ah? Ah? Ah?" as she moved her hips from side to side. He did not know how close the flapping thing was to him and he was afraid to look around for fear he would lose the momentum that was about to hurl him over the edge. Unfortunately, Richard was home by then. They heard him moving around in the living room. She pushed away from Lorin and dropped to her hands and knees beside the bed. Her face was white. She groped for the closest thing on the floor-it was one of Lorin's socks-and held it to her chest while she looked frantically around for something else. Lorin lunged for his pants, knowing he could never struggle into his temple garments fast enough. Alice paid no attention to him, other than to grab at the leg of his trousers as it went past her and let go when he didn't release it. Lorin thought badly of her for not keeping better track of her husband's schedule. He also disliked her for thinking only of herself at a time like this.
