OFFICIALS Wilson Thomas Collins Hillman WOMENS ATHLETICS I JNDER the capable direction of Miss Mildred Metcalf, the range of athletics for girls at the ^ University of Utah has been wide. Swimming, basketball, baseball, tennis, track, stunts and tumbling, clogging, interprative dancing, hockey, and volley-ball have been offered. Intramural competition was fostered in five of these sports. The freshman "S. O. S," team was winner over the eleven volley-ball groups. The honors in swimming were carried off by the X Club, while the Hiking Club was victorious in the basketball tournament. There was intense rivalry in tennis, with twenty singles teams and sixteen doubles teams competing for the school tennis championship. Social activities of the association included a Fall Banquet given at the close of the fall season, the traditional Basketball Banquet held to officially close the basketball season, and the annual Spring Spread. At these times awards to the Association girls, as well as intramural awards were presented. Utah W. A. A. is a member of the National Athletic Conference of American College Women, and has been appointed recording secretary for the Eighth Western Sectional Conference to be held at Reno, Nevada, in 1931.
