Show QUESTION REPRESENTATION SEEK THE TRUTH Brittany Fisher, Kristi Lewis, Jared Forsyth (Libby Haslam) College of Architecture and Planning Everyday the media is responsible for making up the minds of millions of Americans. Are you one of them? As Americans it is our job to weed through the lies that, unseen, travel through the country and make it to our homes. Television, magazines, radio stations such as this one, even "news" papers; they call themselves "experts" we refer to them as "story tellers". Their purpose is no longer to inform. It is their job to entertain, to sell us their fictions for their profit and gain. We get one side of the story, half truths, or flat out myths. These forms of media begin to represent who we are. They repre-1 sent America. They represent us to the world. We are not American § unless we challenge them. The distinctive quality of being American is that we have the freedom to think for ourselves, to deny it is to deny what our country stands for. We ask you to weed through the lies, to seek the truth. We ask you to think for yourself, to Represent Yourself. We ask you to find your own truth, don't allow people to do it for you. |
