They would, I remember one company, oh, quite a few companies but one comapny I can think of particularly, they were having trouble with a labor union and the labor union was completely dominated by the Communist Party members and they didn't know how, they wanted to pick up the ring leader and, of course, they didn't know so I remember taking pictures in groups for about 2,000 employees and it took me about a week in small groups of about 20 or 30. I don't remember exactly and we had to show the pictures to our informants to see whether he could pick out the ones that would be the ring leader, causing all the troubles in his company. Then what would you do to the ring leader? How would you ..• Well, when we found out we would let the management know who they were so they could keep an eye on them and try to •.. Isoalte them? Not only isolate them but see what they could do to maintain harmony within the company. I see. But if they were in a position, if they put up a poster slandering MacArthur, then I could go in and do something about it for them. Arrest them on the spot, you know, for slandering or putting 242 |
