Right up on, where the present University of California Hospital is. SF Where did )OU live. JK Rightin San Francisco. Well, actually I lived right in what is now called Japan town. SF Thenit wasn't. JK No. Well, they called it: ah, Japan town, I suppose. That is - that section of San Francisco. I'~ right o_n_ _7_ ____B uchanan Street, Street, Webster, within the comppund of the present area. Although, the palce that Ilived .is no longer htere. It 'sbeen torn down. Another building has gone up in its place. And ~rshared an apartment there with two other dental students. One was this Dr. Huroda. Andthetther was Dr. Okamo o from Hawaii. They were both seniors. During my - I think it was during my freshman year. Thenafter -in the following year, when Iwentout, why, I had another roommate who wasin my class, one of my classmates. And we shared a Hotel room. SF Sort of likeyou had done by the Univesrity of Utah. JK Pretty much. But although when I was attending the University, of course, I was commuting from home. From 48 South - from Murray, every day, back and forth. But when I wasin San Francisco, I was staying at this hotel callled the Kumamoto Hotel And my room mate and I had - well, we had a good sizeable room. And we were paying oh something like ten dollars a month. See. |
