Show tz INDIANA UNIVERSITY BLOOMINGTON, INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF SOCIOLOGY 7 November 19$6 Dr. Aziz S. Atiya 99 Claremont Avenue New York 27, New York Dear Dr. Atiya: You probably have received from the Indiana Memorial Union a reservation card for a single room and bath, beginning 12 February 193>7. It occurs to me that you might desire a suite of rooms which you could employ for work space and also might find convenient against the possibility of a visit from a member of your family. The suite would cost |10.00 per day and would carry the same rate of discount for an extended visit beyond four weeks, as does the single room. Upon inquiry we find the suite worthy of consideration. It consists of a bedroom, furnished with twin beds, a living room, and a bath. The living room is furnished with occasional chairs, end tables, lamps, a free radio, love seats, which may be combined to form a bed, and a desk. A divider between the two rooms makes possible the utilization of the living room as a bedroom if necessary. If this interests you, you might advise me. I understand that the suites are newly decorated. I would appreciate receiving the outline for the printed program by December 15>th so that the program could be used for advance publicity for the series which opens February 12. I am pleased to have your assent to the modification in the title. We are particularly happy that you will have a bit more leisure than you had anticipated. There will still be an opportunity for a number of talks outside of the Bloomington area, for which you would be entitled to any additional compensation that you can negotiate. Very sincerely yours, John H. Mueller, Chairman JfM:dp v Patten Foundation Committee U^HhtJUUUr- |
