Among these, that at Lung-Te Plant of Taiwan Chemical Fiber Company had been operated since August, 1989, a standard FGD system first operated in the country. (2) Chu-Nan Bottle Making Plant of Taiwan Tobacco and Wine Monopoly Bureau has constructed a Na2COa spray-dring FGD system to improve quality of flue gas from its 150TID glass furnace. 2. In Constructing: (1) Taiwan Power Company: Wet limestone FGD systems are under construction at Hsing-Ta and Lin-K'ou power plants and No.1-4 machines of Tai-Chung power plant (2) A magnesium hydroxide FGD system is being constructed at Lin-Yuan Plant of Formosa Plastic. 3. Plan to Construction: (1) TPC plans to construct analogous wet limestone FGD systems coupled with No. 5-8 boilers of its Tai-Chung power plant and at Hsieh-Ho power plant. (2) Formosa Plastic enterprises : plans to construct analogous magnesium hydroxide FGD systems with other existing coal fired cogeneration boilers and with boilers of same kind which being planned to construct. (3) According to our survey on willing to set up FGD, 24 plants have plan to set up it (including oil fired and coal fired), which include 33 boilers or furnaces. 4. Analysis of Market Potential : About 60 billion NT dollars of total investment will be required for TPC's FGDs under construction and planning to set up and FGDs needed for coal fired power plant planning to construct. Formosa Plastic enterprises sets up and will set up 16 FGD systems in their congeneration plants with total investment of one billion NT dollars. Besides, market potential is existed mostly in cogeneration coal fired boilers of other industries, total investment of this part is estimated to be more than 4 billion NT dollars; and also imply in glass industry and miscellaneous boilers and furnaces, which investment will be estimated to be more than one billion. In recent years, because of elevation of public pressure on environmental protection, it is difficult for TPC to construct new power plants, which results in a position of being gradually unable to meet domestic electricity demand. Numerous cogeneration equipments have been planned to construct by industries in order to prevent loss from electricity limitation. In addition, steam coal will playa dominant role under of inflation of petroleum oil price eventually, so that, market demand of FGD will correspondingly expand. m. 0.1 MWe PILOT PLANT STUDY 1. Apparatus _ (1) 0.1 MWe wet FGD system [2] (as shown in Table 3 and Figure1 ): The feature of the system is that its absorber can be easily transformed into spray type, sieve tray type or packing type.
