Show 4 of course, Bob McLean, a medical student with a fine f uture before him. Closing of Kayenta School for the Summer left us with a free Sunday afternoon once a month, so we have been going into the Ha tch area which we ha ve too long neglected. At the Hatch Trailer School we have heen instructing children in the Faith for many years, but these and their elders have little opportunity for the means of grace. Accordingly the second Sunday in each month we have an afternoon Mass in one of the shades. In May we had eight baptisms there, before the Mass. It is a moving experience - not shared, alas, by many priests in parishes - to bestow at one time the two sacraments generally necessary to salvation. Even those of you who just like the romantic and the picture.sque would be moved by this sight. George Doherty brought a camper full of clothing to us from California in July. (In case any of you are as ignorant as I and my dictionary are, let me say that a camper is not one who or that which camps, but it i.s a little house something like a trailer, fastened to the top of a pickup or truck) . It takes a good driver to handle one of these on the sort of road we have, and 100 miles from their goal they upset the thing. We flew to the rescue in our "Town Wagon" and upset that! But both vehicles limped into port, and no one was seriously hurt. You would think that this would t each us t o avoid campers, but no, we got one, thanks |
