This, of course is thoir right, but they are acting as follows in regard thereto,- Some of the locations heretofore made are befcng worked and some of them are faearly, if net cjuite exhausted. I believe that It is not their intention to Include these exhausted claims among their final one hundred unless compelled to do so. Again this Company is locating as many claims as possible, and even if they do not gain possession of more than one hundred claims before the reservation is opened, they will gain the knowledge of the whereabouts of this large number of veins, with the result that thay will be able at the opening of the reservation to locate and obtain possession of them before the general public could possibly find out their existence. Again, I believe that the local representatives of the Raven Company are locating under the name of the Company claims of gold, silver, copper etc. , and aro placing location notices thereon. Some of these notices read for gold, silver, copper, hydrocarbons, etc., and it Is their contention that they have the right to place their notices on other mineral claims if they consider that there is any prospect of hydrocarbons at that point. This may be theoretically trues but, in fact, I believe that this is being used as merely a ruse, for they have been prospecting In a section where there has not been any sign of the existence of hydrocarbon formation.
