Show ( 5 Much expence has been incurred here in the erection of these fine buildings; the Dept. has been liberal in that regard toward this Tribe; late it is true; but all the more important to get them to avail themselves of its benefits: I have thrown my whole energy into the matter,and now upon this wild desert, where but twelve short months ago, not a stick or stone was to be seen, has sprung up as by magichone of the best built and equippedschool premises in the service; capable of accomodating one hundred pupils; and now the question is,shall these costly preparations stand for indefinite time to await the will of these untutored people: or shall such intelligent action be taken, clearly within bath law and justice ,as shall peacably and quietly fill up these schools and speedily accomplish the subduing of their wild and obdurate natures, If any change for the better takes place I mil promptly advise you 9 Very respectfully > V yP\Y / Ay-zA-i A fcz.u^ f<y.
