The Grand Jurors of the United States of America, within and for the District of Colorado, good and lawful men, duly selected, impaneled, sworn and charged, on their oaths present: That TSE- NA- GAT, otherwise called FA- V'OO- TACE, ctherr wise called EVERETT HATCH, late of tne - Navajo Springs Indian Reservation, in the county of Montezuma, in the State and District of Colorado, heretofore, on, to wit, the twenty- eighth day of march in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and fourteen, within the boundaries of the State and District of Colorado, and within the limits of said Navajo Springs In-arid within the jurisdiction of this court, dian Reservation, Abeing then and there an Indian and a member of the Ute Tribe of Indians maintaining tribal relations with said tribe, in and upon one Juan Chacon then and there being within the limits of said Indian reseivation and witnin the unlawfully State and District aforesaid, with force and arms, ^ feloniously, willfully, deliberately and premeciitatedly, and with malice aforethought, did make an assault; and that said JTse- na- g& t, otherwise called Pa- woo- tach, otherwise called T- verett Hatch, clivers leaden bullets from and out of a certain £ un, commonly called a thirty thirty rifle, then and there loaded with divers cartridges, which said cartridges were charged with gunpowder and with the said divers leaden bullets aforesaid, which said gun, he, said Toe- na- gat, otherwise called ? a- woo- tach, otherwise called Everett Hatch, with both his ha^ ds then and there |
