THE MORMON LION CHAPTER I THE NEVILLES APPROACHING the wretched encampment through a little wood, I came upon the wagons of an independent party of better-class converts. My horse burst through an encircling thicket close to a cot that was set in the shade of the first wagon. On the cot was reclining a frail but ruddy-faced little English lady whose expression reminded me of my mother. She sat up, startled at my sudden appearance. I bowed my apologies for the intrusion and was turning my horse away when she smiled and signed me to stop. " I beg pardon," she said, " but did you wish to see Dr. Neville? " "Dr. Neville?
