Show I can reIreIIt>er Sam: of my earliest recollections are church related. going to "Relegio" meeting at the hone of Aunt; Arm Carter well over fifty years ago. I can still see us singing together from a hyrrn book. Singing has played an important part in my response to God. My rrother used to sing hymns as she went about her household duties. And many times I knew without being told that she was praying and conmmicating with God as she sang. For years the branch in Provo was small. 11:my times Nancy }be and MJther would wann up the one-room church with an old wood stove, gather a few children around, and have Sunday School. It was during this period of my life that I realized that such devotion and detennination on the part of these two dedicated warren had its roots in the power and the love of God. I was born in Provo. since I am to be My parents were both members of the church they were children. grateful for having such wonderful parents. honest, to work and carry and above all, they are examples a TIley taught me share of the load, to respect life; of good Christians and I am very proud of them. I was baptized at the age of eight. graduated from high school at: a time of t:urIroil. Our country was entering World War II. I was dating ''11:>'' and we married quickly I because he was being drafted. He was sent to the Pacific after basic training and I stayed with Mother and Dad. Our son, Richard, was born and was two years old before his daddy rettrrned home. Mo was a member of the Utah church. He joined the RLDS Church after we'd been married fourteen years. I believe that having our family tmited in the concept of wanting to help build the Kingdom is the rrost; satisfying and fulfilling thing that life has to offer. There have been happy times and t:im:s of sorrow. But in every experience God has been with me to give me comfort and assurance. I was prompted by the Spirit to take vocal lessons and give a ministry of music when needed. I have been guided in my choice of companion, and have known the Good Comforter in times of the loss of two of our children, and the assurance that they are with God. We have been blessed beyond measure with strength, abilities, and when we desired to minister to children both in the church and the corrmmity. We also were able to work with the University Hospital and for eight years we had a camp for children with Cystic I have shared my love for cooking at re1.m.ions, children's Fibrosis. camps, youth camps, and Graceland Winter Term in Grand Cayman. resources There have been others. temptations.
