" Newman IN?-6121 & ··: · l ! • Following our study of the proposed Strong-Mayor 9llls last January the units agreed that we need a change· in ·the form of government in Salt Lake City and that the Stfdng-Mayor form as proposed would cor~ rect the operational disadvantages of the present commission form. However only half theunits wanted to take action. Consequ~mtly, we took no action. At the Annual Meeting the Strong-Mayor question was not put on the program for -1959-60. Subsequently, members bega~ having second thoughts and complaints were ~eard because we were taking no action. An explanati-oh of the situation was sent to the uni ts in April and they were told that if th~y wished to · put the Stroni-Mayor question back on the Local ,Li genda -chey might ask the Board to call two general meetings as we did last _ D~ cember.
