Visual Outcome in Cystic Craniopharyngiomas Treated with Intracavitary Phosphorus- 32. Anderson DR, Trobe JD, Taren JA, Gebarski 55. Ophthalmology 1989; 96: 1786- 92, ( Dec). [ Reprint requests to Dr. J. D. Trobe, W. K. Kellogg Eye Center, 1000 Wall St., Ann Arbor, MI48105.] The authors report their experience with the treatment of recurrent and primary cystic craniopharyngioma in seven patients. Visual acuity and visual field either improved or stabilized in all. They review other series that used this treatment and conclude that it is an excellent alternative or adjunct to surgical resection, which carries a recurrence rate over time of - 20% even when felt to be " complete resection" at the time of surgery.
